New PFBSTAND Allows Floor-Box Installation in Deep Concrete Floors without Stackable Materials
Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems now offers an adjustable non-metallic concrete floor box stand – PFBSTAND – as another addition to its growing line of delivery systems.

Designed for concrete applications, Hubbell’s PFBSTAND replaces bricks, concrete blocks, and other stackable materials used in the field to increase box height within the concrete pour. It also allows boxes to be installed in pours with different-height rebar and post-tension cable with different heights. Its three independently adjustable legs offer a height range between 2.5 and 4 inches, with molded-in height indicators so installers know exactly how high the floor box stand is without measuring.

The large, 6-inch round top offers a solid mounting surface for several Hubbell floor boxes, including RF400, PFB1, CFBS1R4PFB, and S1PFB.

Installation is fast and straightforward: Adjust the legs to the rough installation height and use standard PVC glue to secure the box to the PFBSTAND. Once the glue has set, the leveling legs can be adjusted to the exact desired height.

Installation of the PFBSTAND couldn’t be simpler,” says Joe Cretella, product manager for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “A simple reminder molded into the top of the stand tells installers exactly what to do when it’s time to secure the box to the floor stand.”

The PFBSTAND can be used in several types of concrete pours: slab on grade, second floor and above, post- tension, formed concrete, and different-height rebar.
